Champion for Change
After the March 23, 2016 meeting for the Board of Director’s review of the
Iowa DOT draft rules for the new Iowa NMVTIS and Affidavit Law was com-
pleted the board members and Hill Day attendees headed to the track for
some teambuilding! It was a cold and rainy day but fortunately the activity
was indoor GO KART racing at MB2 Raceway in Grimes.
The event was co-sponsored by associate members Auto data Direct and
LKQ Government Affairs. A big THANK YOU to the sponsors as much fun
was had by all.
We were even able to convince Senator Bowman to come out the event to
receive an appreciation trophy (designed and donated by Mike swift of Swift
Trail’s End Auto Salvage, Des Moines). Senator Bowman was honored for
the attention and support of legislation that will help level the playing field for
auto recyclers and protect consumers from fraud. The topic of discussion
originally planned for the breakfast the next day at the Capitol but unfortu-
nately cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
