SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR
AUTO DEALERS Trainer:

Class will cover NEW OSHA Hazard Communication
Rule for all shops with employees and industrial
chemical products in use as well as environmental
compliance. This class will be of assistance to auto
dealers who have a service department, body shop
and those who have a used motor vehicle dealer’s
license coupled with a recycler’s license. Learn about
your responsibilities under the Iowa DNR, EPA and
OSHA rules/regulations and compliance require-
ments. Updated information from the Iowa DOT,
Consumer Protection Division of the Iowa Attorney
General’s office and other state and federal agencies
will be provided.

Updates of changes to state and federal law, rule and
regulation will be provided. This class will review
dealer license laws, title and registration require-
ments, Iowa Department of Revenue overview for
auto dealers, and the new Iowa DOT ELT system.
Auto dealer advertising regulations will be reviewed
and updated with FTC requirements as well as infor-
mation from the Consumer Protection Division of the
Iowa Attorney General’s office.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS, POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES FOR BUY HERE PAY HERE DEAL-
ERSHIPS Trainer:

Updates of state and federal law, rule and regulation
will be shared with dealers. This class provides deal-
ers with an overview of policies, procedures, law and
regulations that must be followed by BHPH dealers in
Iowa. New FTC guidelines and requirements for
dealer advertising will be provided. Learn how the
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – CFPB –
regulates BHPH operations. The class will familiarize
dealers with the forms used in BHPH operations. In-
formation on the new DOT ELT system will be shared.
DEALER GUIDANCE FOR CONSUMER FINANCING
COMPLIANCE Trainer:
Scott Erickson
Dealers who provide financing sources for their cus-
tomers will be taught compliance requirements for the
vehicle buyer and the lender. This class will teach
you about consumer finance rule, regulation and law.
Information will be shared on how to conduct busi-
ness legally, ethically and in compliance with state
and federal law. Dealers will learn about the legal re-
quirements of selling service contracts, warranties,
insurance products, and certified pre-owned pro-
grams. Updated information on dealer advertising re-
quirements will be provided. Dealers will become fa-
miliar with all forms necessary to establish correct
procedures for compliance documents as they relate
to consumer finance. Updated information will be pro-
vided on state and federal law, rule and regulation.
