Iowa Automotive Recyclers
Award 2014 Educational Scholarships
Each year the Iowa Automotive Recyclers award
scholarships to assist IAR Direct member's children,
and the children of their employees, with the cost of a
post secondary education. Students may apply during
any year they attend an accredited institution.
IAR is proud to be able to support the recipients
of this year’s scholarships and we invite you to
Meet Our 2014 Scholarship Recipients!
Aaron Van Beek.
Aaron is the grandson of Ed
Regnerus, owner of B & B in Sioux Center. Aaron is
graduating from Sioux Center Community High
School. He plans to further his education and become
a math teacher to help young people become better
students as well as citizens. Sounds like a plan
Aaron, good luck!
Clinton Kannegieter.
Clinton is the son of John Kan-
negieter who owns John’s Auto and Body Shop in Ap-
lington. Clinton attends Aplington Parkersburg High
School and will be graduating this year with the plans
of going to Wartburg College to get his business de-
gree and play baseball. Good luck Clinton!
Jeramie Mitchell.
Jeramie is the son of Tim
Mitchell, owner of Sunset Beach, Des Moines, Iowa.
Jeramie is a graduate of Lincoln High School and
attends Iowa State University to pursue interest in
becoming a Biology Major and become marine biol-
ogy research scientist. Good Luck Jeramie and con-
gratulations on working at the Blank Park Zoo!
Adrian Mitchell.
Adrian is the son of Tim Mitchell,
owner of Sunset Beach in Des Moines. Adrian is
graduating from Lincoln High School and plans to
attend the University of Northern Iowa to pursue poli-
tics. In the meantime he will be starting an internship
at the capitol building. Congratulations Adrian and
good luck!
The Iowa Automotive Recyclers scholarship fund
was established in 2007 for the children and employ-
ees of the Iowa Automotive Recycler Association
members as a way to help offset the cost of their
continuing education.
The scholarship is open to a student who is an owner
or a relative of recycling yard owner of the salvage
yard that is a direct member of the Iowa Auto Recy-
clers, or employees or dependant of an employee of
the member yard who has been employed for at least
one year.
The funds for the scholarships are generated through
the IAR Outing Auction. We are thankful for all the
support that we have received from our members in
making it possible to provide scholarships to these
deserving individuals. $5,000 was awarded in scholar-
ships for the fall term. Any questions regarding the
