President Brent Nugent called the meeting to order at
5:05 p.m.
New Business: By-Laws – Sue said the by-laws were
discussed at last month’s meeting and a review is
needed for board membership and filling vacancies .
Some clarification is needed on these by-laws as
there was some discussion on number of missed
meetings and the procedure to get back into good
standing as a board member. It was decided Sue
would get a new packet together with the by-laws and
send it to all board members so we are all on the
same page for procedures and policies. To help that
process, David, Jodi and Tracy will send Sue what
information that have so she can put this new docu-
ment together.
Member Contact – Sue suggested the board mem-
bers divide the IAR direct members so that individual
contacts can be made regularly to keep them in-
formed of legislative activity and other information.
The board thought this would be a good way to keep
the membership involved and updated.
Summer Outing – Sue reported the Nugents are busy
making arrangements for the 2013 Summer Outing
and are working on a theme. Sue went over the
agenda which met with the board’s approval. She
also said she has sent the first mailer to the vendors.
Old Business: Newsletter/Who’s Who – Sue reported
that Ackley Publishing will be taking over the printing
of the newsletter and their first edition will be the
March-April newsletter. Ads will be submitted directly
to Sue. Sue is working on the Who’s Who. She
plans to run memorials in both the newsletter and
Who’s Who for Janice Davidson and Lyle Rayevich.
Board Members – Brent asked about new board
members and said he has 2 names of potential new
members. After some discussion, it was decided that
further decisions on this matter will be put on the
agenda to be made during March’s meeting so that
new members can then be invited to the face-to-face
meeting in April.
Upcoming Meetings: Teleconference call on March 7,
2013 at 5 p.m. Face-to-face meeting on April 11, 2013
at 1:00 p.m. in Waterloo. Teleconference call on May
9, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. Summer Outing on May 31-
June1, 2013 in Maquoketa. Teleconference call on
June 6, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
Jodi made a motion to adjourn with a 2nd from David;
meeting was adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
