An unscheduled meeting was held to ad-
dress a proposal DOT submitted that would
reduce titling timeframe from 30 to 15 days.
Reviewed comments submitted via email and then
discussed DOT Proposal on reducing titling time-
frame from 30 to 15 days. Motion was made and car-
ried to adopt a neutral position until more information
is available.
Note to Jim: several of the border states have a cen-
tral titling process center that delay titles for ex-
tended periods.
Jim is also looking for opportunities to fit with prop-
erty tax reform issues as small businesses and/or
recycling facilities.

IAR POSITION IS NEUTRAL AT THIS TIME
The DOT proposal to reduce titling from 30
day to 15 days of purchase has no advantage
to an
IOWA AUTMOTIVE RECYCLER
but
IAR would be supportive of the DOT proposal
if there was sufficient justification for better
law enforcement. IOWA AUTMOTIVE RECY-
CLER will be at a disadvantage with a re-
duced timeframe that may not be feasible for
vehicles processed from out-of-state.
